About Us

Piedmont Land Management was founded by Luke Omand and he runs the day to day operations. Luke possesses 25 years of experience in the property management and construction field. Starting when he was 15, he mowed lawns in his local town and progressed to work for a property management and excavation company in the resort town of Stratton, VT. He graduated from Stratton Mountain School in Vermont and was lucky enough to live the dream of snowboarding professionally for 6 years following high school.

Following his love of equipment and being outdoors, he went on to build snowmaking systems all over the Rocky Mountains. He finally ended up back in New England where through his construction and snowboarding contacts ended up managing a large farm for a public sports figure. This eventually ended up with Luke working on the families 5 other properties and 10 years after leaving that job he still consults with them.

Following his wife’s desire to be back in the town of her Alma Mater, UVA, they made the move to NW Albemarle County in the spring of 2013 with a 1.5-year-old and new born in tow. After settling in, the opportunity to start PLM arose and they jumped in and ran with it. Now almost a decade later, they are continuing to make people’s dreams come true. And in the process of running the business, Luke and his wife Kristina, were able to find their own land which was a logged and abandoned 100 acres parcel that over 5 years they turned into an amazing parcel with mountain and city views to raise their family on.

When Luke isn’t working you can find him at home developing the 20 year list of projects on the family property, spending time with his wife and kids, riding ATVs and in the winter skiing and snowboarding with the family.
